Navigating to Net Zero - Episode 2

Waste not: Innovation drives carbon emission reduction for waste managers

Where most companies see waste, Beauparc Utilities sees valuable resources. The waste management company is becoming a lynchpin of the circular economy in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, determined to extract the most value it can out of things we throw away. Beauparc started its journey in the 1990s, when its founder bought a single waste collection vehicle. Today, the company has 3,000 employees who generate value from waste through cement kilns, plastics recycling, soil restoration, anaerobic digestion, waste to energy, and more.

In our second episode, host Rebecca Darst talks with David Tobin, Beauparc's Circular Economy and Sustainability Director, about the various commercial opportunities they see in waste, and the value of going from refuse to reuse.

We have a big responsibility in our industry to work with communities, to build up that trust, and to bring communities along with us.”

- David Tobin, Beauparc Utilities
