Ben is Head of Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), a top 50 global specialist asset manager providing access to a range of capabilities across public markets and alternatives, including: infrastructure, real estate, private credit and asset finance, equities, fixed income and multi-asset solutions. Ben leads a team of more than 1,900 people managing over $US420 billion1 of assets on behalf of institutional and wholesale clients around the world. Ben is based in Hong Kong.
Since joining Macquarie in 2006, Ben has held senior leadership positions across Macquarie’s Taiwan, Seoul and Beijing offices and, prior his appointment as Head of MAM in April 2021, he was Head of MAM’s Global Alternatives division.
In addition to his global management responsibilities for MAM, Ben is also the CEO of Macquarie Group Asia, where he leads the continued growth of Macquarie’s Asia platform, which employs more than 4,000 people across 14 locations and 11 markets.
Ben is also a member of Macquarie Group’s Executive Committee and a Director of the Macquarie Group Foundation.
Ben has been based in Asia for more than 20 years. He was previously Chairman and CEO of Taiwan Broadband Communications and a management consultant with Bain & Company. Ben is the Chair of Lender Friend, a fintech lending solution for migrant workers in Hong Kong. He is also a Fellow of the 2017 class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
