Delivering practical climate and environmental sustainability solutions

We seek to invest in practical climate solutions, recognising the role we can play in supporting clean energy investment, the annual volume of which must more than triple by the end of this decade if the world is to reach net zero emissions by 2050.4

Our specialist green energy businesses are developing and operating the energy systems of the future, and are supporting our clients and portfolio companies on their decarbonisation journeys.

We also focus on other environmental challenges. To support the global goal of achieving sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources by 20305, we seek to realize investment opportunities in the circular economy. On pollution prevention, our portfolio companies offer e-mobility vehicle and charging to reduce vehicular emissions, and we seek to invest in waste reduction, reuse, recycling or recovery solutions to help tackle the land and water pollution risks associated with landfill.

Investing in renewables since 2005

We believe the scale and complexity of the energy transition demands a dedicated focus.

Since making our first investment in renewables in 2005, Macquarie Asset Management has become home to one of the world’s leading specialist green investment teams. Our green investments team is a leader in the development of companies, assets and technologies that aim to accelerate the transition to net zero.

Our dedicated team of green investment and asset management specialists combine deep sector expertise with industrial capabilities. We invest across the asset lifecycle, from development to operations, and manage a growing portfolio of assets covering mature technologies, including onshore and offshore wind and solar, and emerging technologies such as green hydrogen, battery storage and biogas.

Macquarie Asset Management aims to invest and manage its portfolio in line with global net zero scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Across our private markets platform, we work closely with investee companies to build sustainable, adaptable and resilient businesses.

“The energy transition is one of the most important investment themes of our lifetime. We’re committed to providing our clients with access to the green investment opportunities that they seek, while driving the transition to net zero through the delivery of practical climate solutions.”
